Lisa Townsend is a choreographer, certified intimacy director, theater maker, and movement educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. 
 
Lisa has been choreographing bold, complex, and challenging theater and dance for over 25 years. She is dedicated to cultivating safe creative spaces centered around clear, empathetic communication. Lisa brings respect, kindness, humor and grace to the working environment and offers her unique skill set as a movement artist and collaborator in order to create a physical language specific to the storytelling of a production.

Lisa's artistic projects span the mediums of dance, theater, opera, film, and site-specific collaborations, aiming to explore and push the boundaries of these mediums in transformative ways.
